I would like to add a hydraulic pump and spool these are the ones I was looking at would they work together

Also another thing to think about: if you're thinking of using on a Wheel Horse, be sure the pump is rated for side loads. Most pumps these days are designed to run direct drive with a lovejoy connector, and don't have bearing support on the main shaft. They will wear and fail quickly if they aren't made to stand up to belt drive.

Ok the pump is a 13 gpm do you have any recommendations for a pump that would run a loader and a 3pt

Do you plan to build the loader and three point?  If so, it would be a great idea to research what others have used, how, why, etc.  GPM is great.  Pressure is great.  Cylinder sizes you choose may vary in what needs to be delivered, etc.  The bigger the cylinder in diameter, the more lifting power they typically have but require more flow.

A deere 4X5 series ran a loader, the hydraulic pump was rated at 4.6gpm @ 1100psi.

I found a power king that I want to buy that already has some hydraulics so I might turn that into a loader tractor instead

As much as I love my  loader tractors, that’s not a terrible idea.

If you decide to build a loader for a Power King, I have a set of plans that supposedly duplicate the PK factory loader.

An Auto transmission would sure be nice on a loader tractor.

@squonk has a PK with a loader on it.

Dont overlook steering.  Adding 750lbs to the steering tires can make it difficult with manual steering

Well the power king is pretty much out of the question it’s a little out of my budget so I might go back to the wheel horse idea

Like everything else, pumps are getting expensive. This was probably about $120 when I built the hoe but $250 now.

Money might be better spent on a hydro tractor to put it on

 

A 2 stage pump, like for a log splitter, will pump fast on the first stage until the load is on then 2nd stage has the power so probably not a good idea because you won't have much control when it's moving to fast without a load. I guess you could restrict the flow to slow that down

When looking for a pump that will do side loading, will the listing say that directly? I am getting ready to look for a pump for my Johnson 10 and thought it may help others to know as well. Thanks!

It should or consider it not to be. Should say if can be belt driven. Click the link above
