I wouldn't drill a hole in the seam, maybe on the left side in the middle as a last resort,  try penatrant & working it first.

I would suggest several 1/8" holes with a 1/4" top portion drilled half way down to act as a reservoir for penetrating oil of your choice.

It would be a very good idea to get the set screws out of those hubs and start dropping penetrating oil in there as well.

And you will want to correct the incorrect belt routing on the mule drive....

Great find! Having a C-160 Hydro and a 416-8 with Kohler engines I can say you will enjoy that machine! It'll do anything you need it to do. Good luck with getting it back "on the road".

It is a mild steel pin. If you have a large drill press and a long enough set of drill bits you could drill the pin out. I have made it a practice to cut the pin off flush with the transmission and remove the hitch/lift parts prior to attempting to drive the pin out. I then drill a shallow 1/2" hole to hold the punch in place so you don't have to center it with each hammer blow. Lowell @wheelhorseman sells new hitch pins at a reasonable price so it isn't  worth trying to save one unless it cones out easily.

About as long as it would take a small sloth to ride a unicycle backwards and right side down on a flat tire  3.7 nautical miles around the outside of the back 40 hectares ... Give or take 25 years and a pickle and pimento sandwich.

If it wasn’t mentioned about that pin, try grabbing it with a pipe wrench and some heat.  Spinning it will break it free much easier than trying to drive it!

The trans is free and shifts fine. The engine turns by hand,no carb.

The clutch spins,attach o magic pulley is froze. Tierods are rusted away. Just a quick chance over.
