Briggs v twin with blown connecting rod

I have a 18 horse power horizontal shaft briggs vanguard with a broken connecting rod and damaged piston. Could I use a 16 horse vertical shaft vanguard piston and rod in the blown up engine? I would also like to use the heads will that be possible too?

I'm guessing that these are Vanguard engines?

You may be able to use the heads but I'm not positive on that.

As for the pistons and rods, NO. 16hp pistons would be too small for an 18hp. The stroke is different on the engines as well so the rods will not work either.

16hp

Bore - 68mm

Stroke - 66mm

18hp

Bore - 71.88mm

Stroke - 70.1mm
