Recommended Posts

metaljames80

Hey Guy's- I am having a hell of a time trying to restring the cable for the snow thrower. Haven't been able to find anything on youtube. I've can't tell you how much wire I've gone through trying to figure this puzzle out.

THANK YOU!

Welcome to the forum.

This one is for winding the cable on a spool on the crank. Download the OM (operator manual)

Earlier models had the cable winding on the crank rod with no spool. Is that what you have?

@metaljames80 have any grass trimmer line ?  or heavy fishing line ? using that as cable is much easier to watch function / results . also @gwest_ca  referral  suggestion will get you on point . found using a softer  / easier cord in trials , will show you the way . also good tine to SUPER LUBE chute base area , for easy slide action .lots of tricks for  better operation once you are squared away , pete

@metaljames80@ri702bill  also use the thinnest metal cabling / softest , its strength far exceeds its size  , would also lubricate it , for smooth moving action. found so many hang up drag areas on the blower , it was like every stage of related belt drive was dragging / dysfunctional, that idler pulley frame set up , got mounting point grease ,re grease pulleys , stiffer spring . open gear / cable lubricant for auger chain drive area . mine spun up by hand , drive belt side . just a few ideas. pete
