6wheeler 603 #1 Posted April 6, 2023 Hi all. Since I brought up the RV ing/ hiking post? I thought. I never posted pics of my ride. It is a 1988 Coachmen Leprechaun. 28' Class C motorhome. I bought it last year with 12,000 one owner miles. It never sat outside unless it was being used. Lets see other units. Campers, trailers, motorhomes and such. Dad hot wired it and the miserable thing fired up. I told the lady if it made it back to her house in Kansas CIty that I would buy it. But, if it died, I was leaving it along the road. We drove it home that's when dad discovered the hot wire going to the distributor had been cut and then laid side by side and re-taped. That way it looked like a repair. Dad said that he wished he could have seen the look on the faces of the guys working at the junk yard when it fired up! We had it several years even took it down to Baja Old Mexico one time. Of course it was wood frame and the windshield frame rotted out. I pulled it (and eventually all of the windows) and made repairs. Back then a fellow could buy red wood. Beap52 811 #7 Posted April 8, 2023 Here's our 1983 Holiday Rambler Aluma-Lite. Bought it about 4 years ago from a hippie in Ozone, Arkansas. The hippie used 2x4's to make a bed and so I removed it and built the one's you can see in the picture below. We don't eat or cook inside so I took out the uncomfortable kitchen table and benches and put in a futon. I made plywood skids so the futon can be made into a bed when grandbabies camp with us. We've installed a mini-split HVAC that can be seen hanging above the beds. The bath tub was cracked so I removed it and made additional storage. We have never taken showers in our campers as we only stay in campgrounds with showers and plenty of hot water. In fact, I took out the stove/oven and installed a microwave in it's place. We cook outside in the smoker, over the fire pit or Coleman gas stove. The second picture is the camper spends most of it's time--unfortunately.
