oliver2-44 9,714 #31 Posted April 14, 2023 As you rewrite it clean each terminal, post or screw. If you have a Dremel those wire brushes for it are good for this. Retiring it now will give you a new harness to reinstall after reassembly. When you rewrite it if possible remove one wire at a time and replace it with a new one. When you done you can get some wire loom and zip ties to nested it up. When you install the new wires use silicone grease on the connections. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Frank DeHaven 27 #32 Posted April 18, 2023 Well after taking everybody's advice and I still can't thank you enough for all the information I have rewired the ignition. I ran out of colored wire so I had to substitute blue for green and yellow with a knot for white but I have everything written down as to what goes where. I also replaced the coil, the condenser, and the points. I know I have to replace the solenoid due to half thing to jump across terminals. But it turns over so hopefully with this new temporary wiring job it will run. Cross your fingers! 4 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Fix the wiring, change the fluids and then get it running to assess what else it needs. Make the tractor 100% mechanically sound first before restoring it.
