C160 throttle question

Recommended Posts

When I  go to throttle up I only have to move the lever up about  3/4 fourth  of an inch and it's at a very high  speed already?

Sounds like something's out of adjustment there.

I can get pics of a Kohler throttle setup later if someone else doesn't get it done by then.

Can you post a picture of your throttle linkage? It will help us diagnose the issue.

Throttle cable controls the governor, and the governor controls the speed. Sound like more of a governor problem. Pictures to follow soon.

Make sure that the governor is adjusted at this point according to the manual before making any other adjustments.

WHX??

Check the location of the spring in the holes of the linkages shown in Bob's last pic.

My sweet spots are usually the third holes.

@Mark siebenaler

Have you adjusted the governor arm?

@Mark siebenaler would also give  both ends of that governor mount point some lubricant , and related linkage , agree with others on possible problem areas . verify each point for easy movement , so it can follow the initial , request / intent . pete
