wildcats9 9 #1 Posted March 30, 2023 I'm looking for a repair manual for a 97-36TL01 tiller. I've searched a lot on this site and have come up empty for this particular manual. I do have a Parts List and Instruction manual for this tiller and a separate parts listing from Toro. Is there a repair manual for this tiller? If so, is there a manual posted on this site and can someone point me to where to find it? Thanks in advance.
Pullstart 62,812 #2 Posted March 30, 2023 Are you sure it is not 07-36TL01?
Pullstart 62,812 #3 Posted March 30, 2023 I found 77- and 87- but no 97- @gwest_ca? https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/file/285-tiller-36in-1977-77-36tl01-om-ipl-snpdf/ https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/file/2825-tiller-36in-1978-1979-87-36tl01-97-36tl01-tipl-snpdf/

wildcats9 9 #5 Posted March 30, 2023 Thanks all. I'm not 100% sure of the year as the ID tag is long gone. I bought the tiller with a 1979 C-141-8 tractor from the 2nd owner about 20 years ago. The tractor still has it's ID tag so I know it's a '79, so I was assuming the tiller was same year, but maybe not. In looking at the links to the manuals posted above it doesn't appear there's any difference in part numbers whether it's a '77, '78 or '79. I was hoping there was a repair manual out there for this but maybe there isn't one. Thanks again for the responses.
WHX?? 48,803 #6 Posted March 30, 2023 Not a repair manual. Just the parts list and owners manual. What kind of repair does it need?
Moparfanforever 844 #7 Posted March 30, 2023 Pretty good tube video on a tiller

Moparfanforever 844 #9 Posted March 31, 2023 I am pretty sure Lowell has gaskets/seals for a tiller at wheelhorse parts and more. Good luck with your rebuild and keep us updated on your progress !! 👍👍👍👍
Pullstart 62,812 #10 Posted March 31, 2023 (edited) How are the tines? I have a tiller with fairly worn tines, but it does a dandy job still. Now that I have my GT14 tiller tractor, this one has no use around here. Here is the tiller I no longer need in action. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,037 #11 Posted March 31, 2023 The 87-36TL01 and 97-36TLL01 could be identical. Wheel Horse at the time created model numbers that would identify the model year but it was short lived because they ran out of numbers. Was able to copy what Partstree has for 97-36TL01 but it is 19 pages.
wildcats9 9 #12 Posted March 31, 2023 Thanks again all. I appreciate it! Yes, it looks like Lowell has the bearings and seals listed on his website. Pullstart, I sent you a message.
c-series don 8,676 #13 Posted April 1, 2023 I recently did the same thing and fought with the tine removal. I found that the best way to remove them was heat and then immediately put the tiller to work in some hard ground, it worked! It took a while but it worked.Once the shaft was spinning on the tines, which was evident because everything else was turning except the tines I kept using it and making turns they eventually fell off the shaft.
