Some have good luck with that stuff, some dont.  My Legacy XL has a very large and expensive muffler, it has a few rust holes on top of the canister.  I cleaned the surface, roughed it up, degreased it, tried a different brand id had great luck with...it lasted about 10 minutes and cracked off.  I tried a 2nd product..the same stuff OP used, it lasted about 45 minutes and fell off.  I then tried a 3rd product, one you mix up and it gets thick...it pours on and hardens, then you cure it with heat.  Followed the directions...its still on, 5 hours later but its starting to leak around it so its not long. Might have to get my tanks filled and try to braze them, this is the first time the liquid miracles have all let me down.

Stain finish.  Also it drys very fast. I guess it is like the old flat white or what ever. Just wanted to spruce it up a little

All I can say is this muffler is in good condition before I did this work to it. I guess preventive maintenance.

I did a little sanding to get the high spots. With this header paint it helps to blend it in. Thanks for the post.

Who still wears a wristwatch these days ???    Looks like it has potential - my motto -  fix it once, be done with it. Same problem comes back, time to change plans.

@SylvanLakeWH  looks like its well kept ! can relate to the paint shine finish  , detailing , try an oil soak on that plow blade  , for paint recovery , let it soak in and feed that base paint . done that to all my horse paint . don,t rush it , let it work , repeat till the paint starts to rub / break thru . then a cleaner wax / solvent . been recently using graphene paint finisher , amazing depth / clarity / smooth finish pete.

Yep gotta have a watch--except it's on my right arm.   First thing every morning is glasses.  Then can't leave the house until I've got my pocket knife, chap stick, nail clippers and handkerchief.  I don't know how the younger generation is going to survive.  Why heck, they don't even carry cash!

I hear you on that. Definitely a different world when we were young.

I totally remember hearing almost the exact same words from adults in the late 60’s. I survived.

I heard it again from friends when I was working with high schoolers in the 80’s and 90’s. Most of those kids have survived and done well.

Been a lotta “younger generations” so far so I figure the odds are this one will find a way.

:)

Actually I was trying to be tongue-in-cheek with the young generation.

We are very proud of our daughter and son-in-law.  They are both very professional and well respected in our community.  Pam and I have actually said they're doing a better job of raising our grandchildren than we did with our two kids.

my buddy owns the local autopart's store.  i hang out there from time to time.  you would be amazed how many young people come in to buy something small/cheap.  (say under $5 bucks)  and have no cash!

i would love to see all the electronics go away for a week and see if the younger generation can survive without their phone.  I DOUBT IT!
