WheelHorseVH 104 #1 Posted March 30, 2023 Hey guys…probably a dumb question but can someone please explain how you use this without the brinly sleeve hitch? It has a tab for a hitch but its not the typical C shape. There would be no way that I can think of to lower and raise it. Its apparently a Wheel Horse model from the 60s-70s according to the owner. I thought at first the tab was ground off but I have seen another one looking like that so I think it is factory. Would love to hear thoughts.

Pullstart 62,812 #3 Posted March 30, 2023 This 953 has a sleeve hitch. It might just be the best plowing I have!
WheelHorseVH 104 #4 Posted March 30, 2023 Oh…do you mean a slot hitch @Pullstart? I think I get it now its the type before the Brinly style hitch
Pullstart 62,812 #5 Posted March 30, 2023 It’s a standard Wheel Horse hitch. It was that, or a draw bar, or both. This was a no prep day we brought it home experience. 3
WHX?? 48,803 #7 Posted March 30, 2023 Now I am not a pro on this but I think @Achto said ther was a plow specific to a 953. I just picked one up and noticed it had a different kind of sleeve hitch plow for the 953/1054. Appeared to be abit longer. I don't know why a regular slot hitch plow like yours wouldn't work. We'll call in some 953 plow experts @Shynon @PeacemakerJack see if they chime in.

daveoman1966 3,745 #13 Posted March 30, 2023 That moldboard plow is designed to fit in a SLOT hitch. Another style sown below (PLOW A.jpg) fits in a CLEVIS hitch. The big 'D' ring pin (3/4" dia) shown here is used to mount EITHER hitch (or a drawbar) to the transmission. Get the 'D' pull pin at TSC or a hardware. 1
