@WHX?? I’ve been preaching to you for years how amazing my 502 is.  It took you getting one to realize I’m right.  :laughing-rolling:

No can do - working on mine this week..... and yes, an impressive machine, a tad too light in the front unlike the 7 & 8 HP cast iron Kohlers..... no quick releasing the clutch pedal.

my radio cut out for about 30 miles.  Nothing but me, clinky cold things ‘tween my legs and some beautiful exhaust notes.  I felt a little mad max-ish!

The sweet corn is going in today.   All planted under plastic.     Every four rows are a different variety with a different mature time.  Spaces out the pollination and harvest times.

we’re well into Spring. This is a bumper crop year for Blue Bonnets in the Texas Hill Country. Lots of motorcycle and car clubs making the rounds on the back county roads sight seeing.

It warmed up a bit so the boys came out to help.  They shovel the dirt on the plastic when they start a new row.    There are actually two rows of corn under each sheet of plastic.

Jim, you got it backward (cart before the horse if you will).   Horses produce ethanol as well as methane.   As @ri702bill said be careful around the exhaust!

Michelle O’Malley knows good horse poop when she sees it. While at MIT, the chemical engineer scooped up some manure from Finn, a grass-fed horse at a sustainable farm in Concord, Mass.

That offal has led to a potential breakthrough in turning grasses and nonfood crops into an alternative fuel in attempts to wean motorists from fossil fuels and stem man-made climate change.

O’Malley, a chemical engineer at UC Santa Barbara, has isolated a fungus that could more easily unlock the sugars used to ferment ethanol.

In town yesterday, I noticed how high the river is.  This is a kayak launch site.  The stairs are about 1/2 way under water, then the floating ramp/dock is generally another couple feet down.  We had hours of rain yesterday after the pictures were taken and two more days of rain are forecasted.  This is right below the dam and the backwaters are regulated to control flooding upstream in a small community.  I bet there are still basements underwater up the way.
