gt14rider 759 #4 Posted March 26, 2023 Its loose, cleaned in ultrasonic cleaner, I just want to tighten things up. Maybe some Lucus red sticky grease will smooth things out. Put brass bushings in the steering support. Will be making 7/16" tie rods. 1

peter lena 8,620 #6 Posted March 26, 2023 @gt14rider thats the time to do a detail refit , that idler pulley in your picture can also be re/ greased with lucas red grease . do that to every related lever / linkage area . go from a dragging / stiff movement start to smooth and easy . you are right there . my steering links are also heim joints , as well as clutch rod ends . pto lever rod end , no one told me you can't do that , so I did it . pete

Lee1977 6,658 #8 Posted March 26, 2023 The one on the Raider I just got was rusted to the shaft and turning in a rusty housing. I could move around about 1/8". I have a new one in the parts drawer.

peter lena 8,620 #10 Posted March 26, 2023 @gt14rider good for you , that simple lubrication detailing is amazingly different from existing set up . once I started doing that , it has become baseline standard for rotational movement , linkage , lever areas .pete
gt14rider 759 #11 Posted March 26, 2023 Got some bushing done. Idler pully shaft and parking brake shaft both got 1/2" bronze bushings and motion control shaft got one grommet.
