Filled AG's. With the weights in winter, removed for mowing.

Many people run simple turf treads (and plenty of weight) and wrap a length of #40 roller chain around the centerline of the tire in winter time to make a skate style rib.

The trick is to get the correct length of chain that will stay put and not roll off while turning - may need to use a half link. Deflate the tire, install the chain, reinflate the tire.....

The 40 roller chain works the best. They need to be TIGHT Tight tight like Bill states or they will roll off. When you think they're tight enough remove another link. LoL  They should fit tight onto a deflated tire then air them up to lock them in place.

When they do roll off it's a testament to the forces involved and how much those things are actually grabbing the ground in the turns. Remove the chain loops for mowing and put them back on again for winter.

They will scratch the driveway

What an AWESOME idea!! I've got a bunch of double 40 at work. That should work even better.

My 520H is a dedicated snow machine. The 2 stage is a PITA to change off and on.

I have an old Workhorse 1800GT for the mowing and hauling.

Wayne - double strand #50 roller chain - THAT in itself will add some hefty weight to the front wheels.....
