BrianKoch 307 #1 Posted March 17, 2023 Gentlemen, Do you see something wrong with the height adjustment mechanism on my mower deck? My observations: I assume the spring is supposed to hook into that lower hole on the left side. Am I correct in assuming I am missing another spring on the right side as well? That top horizontal pin should be in the hole set below according to a diagram I found. P.S. If so, do any of you have 2 of these springs I could purchase? No. There is only one spring and it keeps the adjustment lever locked down into the notched bracket. It does attach into that hole near the end of the spring. Lifting the lever has it stretch the spring and move up in the slot on the left as it pivots in the slot on the right (where the lever forms a “U” and the cotter pins keep it in the slot). The IPL doesn’t show any retaining bracket at the green arrow position. Pushing the lever forward and backward moves it to the desired notch. The rotation brings the guide rollers up or down to set the height of the deck. Release the lever and the spring pulls it back into the nearest notch.
