Steve The engine has AFM which goes from 6 to 4 cylinders. I do not drive it much as it is Patti's vehicle but do drive it on longer trips and it does very well on fuel. We bought is used from a Chevy dealership with around 60,000 miles and now has around 105,000 and have had very good luck with it. The acceleration is very good as is the handling and ride.
