Got the 417 out of hibernation to spread some white stuff around.

Only white stuff we're spreading around here is SNOW. Seems like I've been cleaning it up every other day for the last couple weeks. Looking forward to some spring activities like you are doing.

That brush cleans the grass off the engine air screen when i'm mowing. Haven't designed an automatic operator YET.     I still sweep the grass off by hand.

WooHoo, finally got some snow this morning.     Better go warm up the 520s heated cab an get ready to plow.

@Ed KennellActually I’ve heard that the best time to put down lime is before snow. The theory is that as the snow slowly melts it helps the lime absorb into the ground, as opposed to rain washing it away or to a low spot.

I agree Don,  but snow is rare here in Pa this winter.      We did get a  soft rain today that soaked the lime in nicely.

Have any of you guys seen one of these front or rear dethatchers that Wheel Horse sold ?  I have never seen one before!

I've never seen a thatcher from that brocure, but I've seen pics of others....

I've never seen anyone dressed like that on a  either. 

In the 80's I'd have been on the C-81 with long hair, shorts & an Ozzy concert T shirt with the sleeves cut off. 

Passers by probably thought I stole it.

@JCM I believe has one of those? I have the tow behind model that I wanted to convert to the front mount like the one shown in the brochure. I like the idea of being able to de-thatch, cut and vacuum in one pass. I have since abandoned that plan and after a very long search found an EZ-Rake front mount de-thatcher. After I purchased it I gave it a much needed restoration and I’m happy to say that it works even better than I expected! However I can’t cut and vacuum while using it but that’s okay because I just get more seat time!

This is a dethatcher that was sold new with my 520- H . Have used it on several WH tractors over the years. Works great. @Lane Ranger  &  @c-series don

yes in the catalog they call it a commercial dethatcher and it looks to be built pretty sturdy!

Don that E Z Rake looks like the trick!  Amazing what attachments and functions these Wheel Horse tractors can accept.  The allied manufacturers weren’t sitting still back thirty and forty years ago!
