boomchucker49318@gmail.co 2 #1 Posted March 11, 2023 Hi, I've had a 520H, two different units, for over 15 years. I really like this tractor. I don't mow with it but I have front, belly, rear blades (box scraper), cultivator, single bottom plow, and a rototiller. It's set up with a shop made Brinley style hitch for some of those implements. I loaded the rear tires when I first got it so I didn't have to take off the chrome baby moon hubcaps in order to put on ugly wheel weights! It works great for plowing snow. My problem is that it has gotten slower and slower in both forward and rear motion. I would say that it is half the speed of what it was when I first got it. I've adjusted that linkage that is under the plate in front of the seat but it won't adjust any more. Is there something else I can do or am I just going to have to replace the parts of that linkage?
ri702bill 8,482 #2 Posted March 11, 2023 Welcome....when was the last time you changed the Hydro fluid & filter..??
Chaz54 57 #3 Posted March 11, 2023 Have you tried checking to see what your fluid in the transmission looks like? Some of the more experienced members may have a better suggestion, but it almost sounds like you might have water in the oil. You would get this from condensation in the transmission. Which comes from not getting it warm enough to evaporate.
boomchucker49318@gmail.co 2 #4 Posted March 11, 2023 Without going out and checking the date I wrote on the hydro filter, I want to say it was three years ago. However, this issue was manifesting prior to that. It really hasn't gotten that much worse in the last four or so years and changing the hydraulic oil and filter didn't seem to make any difference at the time. Maybe an actual flush of the system rather than just draining it?
Ed Kennell 38,624 #5 Posted March 11, 2023 Under the seat, is the transmission motion valve being moved full travel by the cam plate? to the Boomer

Wear and dirt/debris are the two main culprits. Have you downloaded the Eaton 11 manual from the files on this site? Search for “Transmission Hydro Eaton 11” using options “files” and “use all my search terms"
lynnmor 7,352 #7 Posted March 11, 2023 Check the drive belt condition and tension. The tension pulley can go bad as well as the bushings that it pivots on.
