Steps closer.  Roof mostly patched in, door in, time to side and ventilate it.

A little 28” high siding to prevent heads getting nabbed by critters if they scale the fence, and if they stick ‘em through the chain link…

And fully boxed in.  I made sure to drive the steel down into the ground a ways to prevent burrowing.

I’m glad to have set the live trap outside the new porch last night.  This was inside the 6’ fence, and vicious!  Unfortunately he got a splitting headache mid-morning.

6’ fence is no barrier to a coon. Can't blame him for trying, right?

How many geese are thinking of keeping in that pen? You do realise that geese produce piles and piles of s**t.

We have 6.  Up to 2 may be kept through the winter, if we have a male and female to mate and incubate eggs.  Otherwise, it’ll be a seasonal thing for the geese.  The rest will end up in the smoker :P

With the expansion to the fence run, I had a hard time deciding where to place the trap.  Inside the fence, outside the fence, front or back, etc.  they could come from any angle.  In this instance, a I believe I’ll begin placing the trap every night, right in the same spot.  The meat birds in the plastic greenhouse are protected by an electric fence on the soft sides.  It has proven to be worth having as well!

Cousin Eddies are pretty big these days!  They are so silly, chewing on everything!  They are noisy and a ton of fun to watch!

12 days we have, until we process our birds.  I haven’t sexed these geese yet, to see if any will survive the cut.  Or pluck, that is.  This is a 23-1/2” plucker that *should* fit the geese as well as chickens!
