Mark siebenaler 88 #1 Posted March 2, 2023 I'm thinking about new front tires for my electro 12 hydro I mostly use it for plowing snow and garden work what would you guys go with? Three rib or tractor tires . It doesn't seem to steer very good sometimes plowing.
ebinmaine 67,553 #2 Posted March 3, 2023 Non steering while plowing snow is definitely an issue. Trina's 867 Pigpen will barely turn even with chain wrapped tires and some extra weight. I've ordered a set of these: Carlisle X-tracs for the steers on her rig. We'll add more weight. Very likely also fluid fill the tires. Should help a fair amount. 3

Rims are another issue but I look at it this way based on the 20 year or more that you'll get out of good tires... Tires - $100 Mount - $40 Total Cost - $140 Divide by 20 year of service ($140/20) = $7/year

Haven't had any snow worthy of plowing yet, but I have been driving it around in some muddy conditions and they are awesome. Highly recommended. 2
