Pullstart 62,849 #3 Posted March 3, 2023 There are three pulleys you are dealing with, the engine, transmission and tensioner/clutch. The belt goes around all three on the outside. The belt guard is crucial for the clutch to work properly.

peter lena 8,623 #5 Posted March 3, 2023 @Richardmewen great opportunity , to change out that chronic failure , IDLER PULLEY , tractor supply has similar pulleys with larger bearings , just pick up a bronze bearing , insert for size to size fit , you could also re grease that , with those wide rubber side shields . also aerosol lubricate every piece / part of related rusty linkage . only a suggestion , pete
peter lena 8,623 #6 Posted March 3, 2023 @oldlineman you know since I went after every related drag / problem area on my belt driven anything , there is little to no effort related to that function . now each of my horses is set up the same way , no noisy / screaming engagement , little clutch effort , pto lever is solid and very smooth . refer to it with years of use , and no failures . to look at every set up , you would not see any changes , / maybe added washers , lubrication stain . just the way i like it , pete
