Has the breather been recently removed? This usually happens if the breather is reassembled incorrectly. If not, maybe the reed valve has failed.

I believe he is referring to the inner plate drain hole - it HAS to be installed so it is at the bottom - and can be installed wrong!!

Either the reed and or gasket failed or it's time for a ring job.

:text-yeahthat:

Is the engine burning oil (white smoke) or having signs of oil fouled spark plugs? Remove the dipstick and run the engine, is there a lot of pressure at the dipstick tube?

Good excuse to purchase a leak down tester.

I rebuilt it two years ago this started three mouths ago when it's running oil starts coming out like smoke does at the breath hole but no smoke at the exhaust

To add to that, I would check that the drain hole is clear. Maybe some junk blocking oil from returning to the case?

When you say "  Rebuilt" was the bore checked by a machine shop? How was it measured? Most guys see a cross hatch in the bore and think it's still good but in reality the bore is tapered or out of round. New rings are tossed in and  that will get you by for a little while. Then they start blowing by resulting in exhaust smoke, oil out the breather or both.
