95 314 hydro stopped moving.took apart the drive belt was a 1/2" my problem there was a spring laying inside don't know where it goes.did put a 5/8 belt on

Spring may have been the one that attaches to the belt tensioner.

Assuming you had been driving it I'm thinking maybe the spring on the PTO. I had to steal a picture because I don't use them.

In 1995 the spring is near the rear of the pto rod and hooks into the corner of the battery tray support.

@chev0545  when it comes to springs and related linkage , take the time to verify / lubricate , its function. collective drag with related issues , more often than not , is a big part of problem , pete
