Have to admit I have likely used this one incorrectly... 

 

 

Tantamount means “equivalent in value, significance, or effect.”

 

TANTAMOUNT  is sometimes confused with PARAMOUNT, which does not describe something that is equivalent, but instead means “superior to all others.”

 

 

Used in a sentence, one might say,

A Wheelhorse tractor is tantamount to others in that most of them have a steering wheel.
