formariz 11,987 #1 Posted February 20, 2023 My son got tired of replacing Tecumseh engines on our shredder and hauling it around. So he removed all unnecessary parts and adapted it to a tractor. I had this C-125 under a tarp for the last five years so I donated it to be a dedicated shredder tractor . 8ntruck 7,013 #2 Posted February 20, 2023 Nice job. I have an old 5 horse B&S powered chopper shredder. So far, the engine is fine. But, if it ever craps out, I think I'lldo a similar conversion. This will be also the tractor he will use on the property moving trailers around with firewood. I had one just like yours for 35 years. Probably the best machine I ever owned. Had a Briggs engine. One day about a year ago while being used there was a real big bang where it actually jumped off ground. It stopped and upon inspection he realized the whole impeller assembly actually bent. So then he took the other one I had here also a Craftsman but larger. Always had trouble with that engine and could never really fix it. It always wanted to over rev. Shure enough soon after rod broke through block. He realized that engine from old one although less horse power fit perfectly on it. Changed it . Soon after it also was turning too fast. Something with governor got stuck inside. Not wanting to deal with it anymore decided to attach it to a tractor that would not only have a reliable engine but also made it easier to deal with moving and storing unit itself.
