C195 Pully removal

Recommended Posts

bitten

Hello Everyone.

I am trying to remove the drive pulley off of the engine to install on replacement engine. I have removed the bolt and spacer that appears to hold the pulley in place. I cant see anything else holding the pulley in place, am I missing something? I also dont see anyway to hook a puller up to it to pull it off. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Remove the set screws in the side of the pulley, sometimes 2 screws, one on top of the other.

Sometimes 2 set screw holes, i.e. 12 o' clock & 3 o'clock....

Spray down with penetrating oil in the screw holes & crank.

Hook up a puller & remove.

Blasterdad thank you for your response but the C195 has a much different pully. I can not find any set screws and there is no place to hook up a puller.  I will get a photo.

Exactly what I had to do Blaster.  Same puller & setup.

Allen set screws stripped out just looking at them tho so had to drill them out.

Take some emery cloth & lube to the crank stub so it doesn't fight you all the way.

Yes pics Bitten ... you should have dang near the same thing but the PTO bell and inner bearing race all has to all come off. Pics would help us help you.

I just took that pic to show @bitten the set up. The bolts were barely in the pulley finger tight, I didn't actually pull it, just an "instructional" photo. Lol :laughing-rolling:
