Wheel horse tractor 312a question

I have a wheel horse 312a I think the  clutch plates are bad in the pto off the side of the motor it starts to run the mower deck belt then stops it is getting hot I think the clutch plates are bad. is there a parts breakdown for the clutch or dose anyone know the part number thanks for your help

Almost sounds like you have some slippage. Is the clutch adjusted so when it’s engaged the bell is tight up against it?  
 Take a scroll thru the manuals section, I’m sure we have yours in here.

You add tension by turning this trunion, closer to the PTO handle, a little bit at a time.

@gris71 question , how easily can you move that drive belt by hand?  tractor shut off , key in pocket ,collective attachment  drag , from  related bearings , grass build up under deck  , as well as clutch adjustment can add up to very heavy belt drag . the easier it all spins up by hand , should be easy for the drive belt to move it , pete

Also inspect this area and the bracket. There should be a pin holding it on which is common to fail after 30-40 years. If it's not attached correctly you can't adjust enough.
