Sparky-(Admin) 21,318 #2 Posted February 18, 2023 Almost sounds like you have some slippage. Is the clutch adjusted so when it’s engaged the bell is tight up against it? Take a scroll thru the manuals section, I’m sure we have yours in here. https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/category/31-1985-1990/

peter lena 8,632 #5 Posted February 19, 2023 @gris71 question , how easily can you move that drive belt by hand? tractor shut off , key in pocket ,collective attachment drag , from related bearings , grass build up under deck , as well as clutch adjustment can add up to very heavy belt drag . the easier it all spins up by hand , should be easy for the drive belt to move it , pete
wallfish 17,005 #6 Posted February 19, 2023 Also inspect this area and the bracket. There should be a pin holding it on which is common to fail after 30-40 years. If it's not attached correctly you can't adjust enough. Post a pic of yours so we can see it 3
