CCW 1,292 #1 Posted February 17, 2023 (edited) A tid bit of info that might be helpful. Unfortunately for my wife my brain is not that of a romantic, but of a mechanic. My wife had to learn that finding the oh so right gift was a rare event for me over the years. Bless those husbands who are so inclined for their partners are lucky. Back to my bracket. Making a winch / suitcase weight bracket out of two inch angle iron that bolts to the front of my 312-8 through the existing 3/8 inch holes at the front of the frame. The two hole right above the axel are very difficult to get bolts through. At 2 a.m. last night I have a thought. How about one long bolt that reaches from side to side. Picked up an 3/8 x 8" bolt at TSC and lickity split the new bolt was in place. Man did I bury the lead on this topic. I'm guessing that there are a few of these fixes that those of us who do not use snow blowers or chippers know nothing about. I discovered my bolt solution the hard way. Is there a Tips and Tricks section on this forum that these solutions might be available?
ri702bill 8,296 #10 Posted February 17, 2023 Not that I'm aware of - yet... maybe should be, as sometimes there are easy and hard ways to perform service on these old girls...

JCM 9,130 #12 Posted February 17, 2023 I have a Tine Rake that mounts to the front part of the frame that you speak of. You are correct that is a tough place to get at. There are 2 different tools I have that work for that area. One is a Snap On flexible long magnet and a flexible claw grabber pick-up tool available at most hardware stores. The 2 bolts for the Tine mount are carriage style which make it easy to attach. Highly recommend either of those tools. Good Luck
