Summer tractor.

I pick this Rader9/12 up yesterday in Deep River Ct yesterday. It was cheap compared to what you see on the net these days. Crazy stuff! Any way the Teckey that was in it blew up, so the p/o went with a newer K Kohler 12 that they had on the shelf. It has a push button start and a toggle shut off with a very nice not stock nice amp meter.

Smokes on startup but goes away after that. This my summer tractor for yard work only. The boat seat is history. I have a nice original deck that came with it. That I would like to sell but it might be spoken for? these are for the 10-1257 series and the Raiders also and whatever else that it would fit on. Will post if not sold.

I like it! Slap some period correct decals on the hood and she would really pop!

So whats the actual model number? Should be on a tag just under the dash I think.
  Mower deck blades missing?

I have to get that Mike. There is a non Nos amp meter there hard to see it. The owner said a Rader 9 because of the tecky. Yes, they were not there. I hope they are not hard to get. There is a dip stick in the front on the bottom of the block.

As Greasy Pete would say, "Slap some drain oil on the bottom of that deck."

For the ones that would like to know this tractor I bought two days ago is 1 604 1 is Raider 10.  It had a 10 hp Tecky engine in it. And the currant K engine is a repaint. I also look up in my manuals they did not list a Raider 9. So that as they say is the real story. Still will be a good worker. Taking my time going thru it.

Gary I believe Wheelhorse marketed the Tecumseh 10 HP engines as  "Raider 9"  for 1968 and "Raider 10" for 1969.

Same basic tractor.  Just designations separated by year.

Funny thing Eric it has an 8 speed tranny not a 4. in 69 looks like they did not put a 8 speed in a 10 raider.

Back before 1970 they'd have been called 6 speeds. I know they made em in 68. I had one here.

I believe 1969 as well.

Yep, I can see the 10 pinions and the internal spring. It looks like the differential endplates are aluminum. If so, you have a 5060 6-speed LSD (limited slip differential).

Yes sir definitely a 5060. It’s been a minute trying to find parts for it.  Hi low fork I got lucky on thanks to A-Z tractor parts.  Actually several parts were bought from him

@Retired Wrencher nice pick up , referring to your smokey start , obviousely when you pick up anything , you do not know how or when it was serviced . my experience , is to get heavily treated fuel into it , also use a multi weight oil and added zink in my run in time . have consistently found , with run time , engine smoke to disappear , color of oil to dramatically change , to very black quickly , indicating clean up going on . believe the ring glands are getting cleaned up. also put some road time on it , to heat up and dump , trans oil . take a small bag of tools , and stop ,adjust , tweak , look at , listen to what's going on . just part of my regular recovery action ,to anything I  get . just did exact detailing on a recent , pick up. adjust / improve as you go , only a suggestion , I know the ,pushback , YOU CAN,T DO THAT , is out there , do this on anything I  pick up . good luck , pete
