oliver2-44 9,756 #1 Posted February 17, 2023 (edited) I was browsing Ebay for Kohler k91 parts and came across this vendor. Lil Red Barn Power Equipment Supply They have a ton of chain saw parts for every brand. But also have engine overhaul parts for Kohler, Briggs, Tecumseh, Onan and a few Wisconsin. What caught my eye is they have Kohler k91 overhaul kits with standard to .030 oversize pistons and .standard to 030 undersize rods ' I've never seen anyone offering aftermarket undersize rods for K91's. Of course you have to find someone that will grind them undersize! They also have complete aftermarket overhaul kits for the Kohler K and Magnum twin cylinder engines and Onan twins. @pfrederi How do these kohler twin prices compare to your past experience? They also have kits/parts for all the other Kohler k series. Has anyone had any experience buying from them? Any comments on their quality. What other Aftermarket Suppliers have you dealt with? Remember no direct links to vendor sites. I've had good experience with single cylinder K series overhaul kits from Ebay vendor "Bakt4kids" I've bought parts, but have not bought engine overhaul parts/kits from "isavetractors". TractorEd 633 #3 Posted February 17, 2023 (edited) I’ve bought a k241 rebuild kit from iSaveTractors. Nice aftermarket parts. They have them for k91’s too. iSaveTractors eBay Store I've bought a lot of other parts from there, too. Edited February 17, 2023 by TractorEd
JimSraj 430 #4 Posted February 17, 2023 I bought a rebuild kit for a k301 from iSavetractors two summers ago. .010 over and under on the piston and crank. Very satisfied with everything so far. Motor runs like new.
RED-Z06 2,221 #5 Posted February 17, 2023 With Genuine kohler parts drying up, aftermarket is your only option for some stuff. I use alot of Stens parts for Kohlers, they are solid quality and many "rebranded" parts ive seen were stens parts.

OutdoorEnvy 1,522 #8 Posted February 18, 2023 I’ve used ebay seller bakt4kids as well and was pleased with the rebuild kit. I did it for a k241 on my C-100 and everything was correct including gaskets. I will use them if I ever need another kit. Great value and engine is running as desired.
pacer 3,173 #9 Posted February 18, 2023 I've 'rebuilt' (no bore or crank work, other than hone the cyl) some 12-15 Kohlers, from K241's to K532's using one of the MANY 'kits' on the bay. From just the basic rings/gaskets to the full kits having everything, and have had good luck with them. One order sent wrong rings, contacted them - think it was 'baktkids' - and they promptly sent replacements. I just find one that is reasonably priced, has a decent rating, and offers free ship, and yes, I'm well aware that they are imports - what isnt anymore? - but I figure they will last as long as I'll have the engine.

I’ve gotten parts that customers have provided me me that were .003 off out of the box.

A good engine shop will bore the cylinder as close as possible to the pistons you bring in, within the limits of course. Same with the crank.
