dells68 7,498 #1 Posted February 17, 2023 I have a friend that has asked me to get a 701 going for him. For the most part, it should be fairly straightforward, but I need ideas on finding a belt guard (doesn’t have to be a 701 guard, 702, 753, etc will work). I’m also going to have to replace the tranny as this one is toast. What is the going rate for a good 3 speed? I may have one, but am not sure on value. Sorry I haven’t been around, I’ve been busy with our local tractor club, Emory’s therapy and guitar lessons, and getting me a 30x45 metal building up. It’s going to be nice to be able to have a dry, heated/cooled place to work. I’ll post some pics in another thread after I get my dues paid to be able upload more pics. Seems like I’ve been slammed with everything lately along with finishing up my garage. It has hit me for almost double what I thought I’d have in it, but I figure this is my only chance to build it the way I wanted. Thanks guys and I hope to be back around a little more often as things settle and I feel like I can breath a little! 6

953 nut 55,742 #4 Posted February 17, 2023 Glad to have you back with us. You should be able to find roller with a three speed for around $ 50.00. I have used a couple pieces of bed frame angle iron (one above and one below the belt) with sheet metal tack welded to the outside to make a belt guard. not fancy but functional. 1

elcamino/wheelhorse 9,350 #7 Posted February 17, 2023 @dells68 Glad you are back, I send you a PM last year about the Commando 800 that you bought at the BS. If you get a chance, please read. If you don't, I going to send @Pullstart and @857 horse down to visit you. One will be wearing flip flops and the other will start talking.

dells68 7,498 #9 Posted February 17, 2023 Here are a couple of pics of the garage I’ve been working on. It’s 30x45 with 3 10x8 roll up doors and a side entrance door. I framed a bodywork and paint area to keep overspray and dust down. I poured the floor with help from my cousin and brother in law. We weren’t pros, so I coated the floor with a two part epoxy flake system to hide my mistakes. I’m really happy so far and am ready to start moving stuff in this weekend! 3

All seem to be legitimate reasons for a short absence. Your new shop looks fantastic, glad to hear that you are keeping the tractor club going and being with Emory is priority # 1. The guitar lessons don't quite qualify unless you can post a video.
