Searcher60 209 #1 Posted February 14, 2023 Does anybody understand these front wheel spindle part numbers? I have a 1987 416-8, the IPL lists 111043 and 110213 as both being for the LH side, 110212 and 111042 for the RH side. I would guess either of those could have come on the 1987 416-8??????? Then it lists two numbers LH and RH for the 300 series only, 110956 and 110957. What exactly am I looking for? Since the last two numbers are 300 series only, I would guess they are different? How so? And, I also do not have the 2 plain washers and needle bearing shown in the parts book either. Did some 416’s come without them? My spindles are totally worn out, but the axle is great. Each side has a different spindle, so one has been changed in the past. As always, thanks and best wishes!
Pullstart 63,201 #2 Posted February 14, 2023 (edited) 300 series I believe all had 6” front wheels, or taller spindles for equal ride height. I imagine the differences in 400 series would be gussetted or not? Edited February 14, 2023 by Pullstart
Lee1977 6,866 #3 Posted February 14, 2023 If they came with thrust bearings and washers the spindle thrugh the axle would have to be longer.
c-series don 9,050 #4 Posted February 15, 2023 Some of the 416’s came with 6” front wheels which required a taller spindle so the tractor would sit level. The smaller front wheels would allow room for the 37” twin blade mower deck. Because the blades were so offset the deck was a little deeper front to back. 42” and 48” decks use standard spindles and 8” wheels. Here’s a reference.
