You need a puller to remove it. Not a 3 jaw puller , that will ruin the pulley . You need to use bolts in the 4 holes on the pulley. You may need to use heat to get the spindle removed from the crank shaft.

thank you...   the whole thing comes off as one piece ???  it looks like the cap on the end has a lip that holds the spindle on....

What part are you trying to remove? The pulley or the bearing race?

Be sure to remove all set, screws, there may be one on top of the other.  With the set screws out, spray penetrating oil in those holes.   The puller shown will only grab two bolt holes so do not put excessive force on the bolts.  Often, you can pull the parts by hand if you twist and pull enough.

The race is held on with the PTO disk which you already have off, it should just slide off the crank.

Is that a C clip on the end of the crank? I can't really tell from the pic.

Once it's off use a puller like you showed earlier.

I don't think there is a C clip on the crank shaft. The problem maybe be brown weld. I used a similar puller as the one in the picture. Remove all set screws from the pulley. Use oil, penetrating oil. If there is rust on the crank it may take a few days or longer to get the race off. You may have to apply heat to the race if the puller does not move it. If there is rust inside of the race you will have to remove the rust. Also remove any rust from the crank shaft.

Those races usually just come off with a few taps of a brass hammer. But if it's stuck use that puller and have the pulley pull it off.

Using a 3-Jaw puller with two long bolts threaded into the Enmgine Pulley.  Be sure the two bolts are fullly treaded ...and equal depth...into the pulley or it will twist / go cockeyed.   In this case, the bearing race was also stuck tight to the crankshaft, but it came off within a minute or so.

@evaninsky   get some KROIL PENETRATING OIL IN THERE , and that screw in bolt point on the pulley flange, solid pull off , while you are there , upgrade the bearing grease , lucas hi temp , clean out and inspect inner needle baring , just a light coating of anti sling grease /  polyurea ,made for that area . pete
