This is for any of you who still watch NASCAR, if you can't go below the yellow line to advance your position you should not be able to use the wall either.

Should, or should not??  "Rubbin' is Racin' " I want them to go back to 5 lugnuts per wheel...

Edit - I looked this up on their site - using the wall  as a buffer so you can enter a turn full throttle is, and will be banned from this sport.

One great memory of using the inside pitwall was done by Rusty Wallace, probably back in the late 80's. It was on a short track, he tangled with another car and bent the left tierod - the car had like a 3 inch toe out condition. He was in the top 5 - radioed ahead saying he was coming in - make it look like a normal pitstop, but wanted all the crew to jump BACK behind the wall - he rammed the pitstall wall hard - hard enough to partially straighten the toe - out problem to less than half. He went back on the track, checked the steering - good enough!! Came back in for tires and fuel next lap...

NASCAR Officials were not too amused at his bash-fix. He told them the car hooked a hard left trying to stop.....:auto-driving:

Not, sorry I changed it.

Not surprised about the banning. I can see the potential for bad things happening if crew chiefs start “prepping” their cars to accommodate this behavior without damage and then multiple drivers attempt it at the same time in the race.

That said, it was one heck of a clever and inventive out-of-the-box maneuver!

After watching the end of last night's race at LA I think Auston Dillon should be banned from racing. The only way he can advance his position is by wrecking the car ahead of him. He did that to Eric Almirola at the Daytona 500 a couple years ago and in 2022 did it again at the Daytona summer race. Last night he quite obviously wrecked Bubba Wallace to place second.       :soapbox:

As far as the "Hail Mellon" move I understand why it was outlawed,  :jaw:   but it was one of the most awesome things I've ever seen done on or off the track.
