Muck boots

Going with the concept that boots are a tool.  Many of you use muck boots as part of your regular attire for field, farmyard or other work site.  I may need a pair soon and am looking for suggestions for my 69 year old feet.  I prefer comfort to price since I will have to wear them all day.

I personally wear slip on boots 99% of time and have for long as I can remember. I have some Ariat boots now but have had luck with Justin’s and Rocky boots.  However most of the time these boots are not insulated and definitely not water proof. When it get wet and or snowy I have a pair of Muck branded boots.  They are a insulated version and I think they are close to the most comfortable pair of slip on style boots I have tried

Last year I needed a pair so I went to the usual farm supply places but couldn't find any that were remotely comfortable.  I found boots in the concrete department at Home Depot that worked for me.  I don't expect them to last for years but they didn't break the bank.

I'm not a rubber boot fan as I prefer leather.

 

These 40 year old Rockys have carried these 79yo feet hundreds of miles over Pa, Md, Mt, WVa.   They have taken me to the highest point in Pa, Mt Davis, over 12,000 feet in Rocky Mt National Park in Co., and even from Zermatt, Switzerland to the base camp of the Alp's Matterhorn.

 

These were still made in the USA boots and have been resoled twice by by our local shoemakers, the Continos.     They are still worn for my daily walks.

When I hear the word "muck" in regards to farms, this is what I think of:

I am an Original Muck Boot Company fan. I own several pair. 2 pair lace up and 4 pair slip on. Of the 4 pair that slip on, one pair goes just below knees, one pair above ankles, and 2 pair like shoes. They are the most comfortable, warm and keep your feet dry boots you can own. Sure they are a little pricey but worth every penny. I also like that after spending a day in the " muck" or snow, or water, you can just hose them off and they are good as new again. So you can step in anything and not worry about having to clean it off. Get out the hose and spray them off. I wouldnt recommend doing that with leather boots. Also up here in the winter they use a lot of salt on sidewalks, streets and parking lots. The salt burns and scars anything leather if you let it dry into it. dont have to worry about that with Original Muck Boot Company Boots.

Agreed on everything you said.  Only complaint I have with my current Muck boots is if I’m inside too long my feet start sweating 😅 lol
