That is pretty incredible Rochester had little snow. I think all of us in Connecticut havent seen more than a total of 3 inches  that was quickly washed away. I believe. Two months held the warmest ever record. It is supposed to go down to -5 for one night then right back into the 40's.

Sure would be fun to run a snowblower into a pile of water once!  Wooshsplash!

Here in western mass I live in what is considered the valley. We haven’t gotten much for snow. The boys did plow 2 small storms. I plowed the heavy wet stuff last week. But with the warm and the rain we have only maybe 1-2 inches on the ground here. The big 2stage hasn’t even made an appearance this winter. I wouldn’t be upset if I didn’t get to use it.

I’m happy with no snow here in central Ct. I did upgrade my walk behind Ariens snowblower, back in November, to a newer model with a brighter headlight and heated hand grips. Haven’t used it once!

Kinda feel bad for the landscape guys that make a living clearing snow in the winter months, gotta be tough on them.

Eric nice picks and I like that overhang. It serves two purposes. Slippery slides are the best for up north. Also, you have a loader now that is a plus.

I totally forgot to mention (probably because i used it once last winter) I purchased  a brand new 3 stage snow blower for the walkways and retired a Yardman 5 hp. blower i bought new like 29 years ago. I bought it before my 1989 416-8 and i was actually very surprised it lasted as long as it has! I may keep it for a backup. Ill see how is goes

I know for a fact this works to prevent snow.

Two or three years ago I purchased my brand new Ariens commercial walk behind snowblower with a brighter headlamp and heated hand grips and it did not snow up here for a lot of January or February.

Good eye. Yes there is. That's an Ariens S16H.

I picked it up with a Horse that is now owned by @OldWorkHorse

Originally got it for the engine but I've decided to leave it whole because I've read online and been told in person that it's quite the working machine if it was up and running.

Not likely I'll do anything with it so I've decided to sell it.

Not sure it works.         About five years ago I was lamblasted for replacing my blowers with plows.      "you'll cause some major blizzards"

After this year, I'll probably replace the heated plow tractors with air conditioned mowers.

Not the Northeast but my sister Connie’s place in Steamboat Springs , Colorado is on the west side of Steamboat.  They live in an area that is mostly a valley that has revived tons of snow.

They built a barn several years ago where the windows are eight foot high on the side of the barn.  The snow is six to seven or eight feet high in some areas.   I have a couple photos.   Homeowners regularly use big brooms with very long handles to clear snow from their roofs.

My sister and her family has already removed snow several times this season.  One of the pictures I am posting shows her neighbors on their roof removing snow.

it’s is a real problem to find a place to put the snow!

Do you or your sister have any nieces in West Michigan?  I worked with a lady who had an aunt Connie in Steamboat!

About a half century ago, I had the opportunity to work for the US Bureau of Reclamation at their Estes Park Hydro Plant.     I traveled the Trail Ridge road from Estes Park to Grand Lake and Steamboat Springs many times.    One of the most inspiring rides on this 3rd rock.

Trail Ridge Road - Rocky Mountain National Park (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov)

Alta, Utah. Wasatch Range.

Pit dug to assess snow pack for avalanche risks...

My son regularly skis the backcountry in Utah and pays close attention to the avalanche warning system... over 400 inches this year in the upper Cottonwood canyons...
