What do you get when you cross a Horse with a Moose???

 

 

 

 

 

A pretty good snow plow set up that's what. 

 

A friend of mine wanted a wider plow for his C195. To accomplish this on a budget he did a very good job of fitting a Moose ATV plow on to a  plow frame.  I was very impressed & thought that some of you might like to see the results.

 

He had to add a little metal to the mount for the frame and the swing mount for the plow.

 

 

The radius of the Moose plow mount did not match well with the  frame so he had to add some metal to get the lock pin to work when angled.

 

The plow swings as it should without leaving the comfort of the seat. 

 

A very nice addition to his "unstoppable" tractor.

That looks like it will do the job!   Nice work!  So is it a 60 or 72” plow blade?  Thinking the C195 would handle a 72” possibly?

I Think he said that it is a 72", he says the tractor has no problem pushing big piles around.

The 72" will be no issue.  

 

My 60"+ blade ala @wallfish has been a great addition to our snow moving arsenal.

@Achto   you can spring load those blade end sliders , for  easier  working ,  how does that steering quadrant , slide pin work ? red grease and  hand  lever tightening / detailing  makes it work easier with that spring that pulls it ,  like a rifle bolt .  pete

Looks good. I would be careful never to heavily load up only one side of that big blade so it doesn’t excessively torque the transaxle against the tractor frame. The 195 has a lot of power!

@WVHillbilly520H sent a side movement limiter to me a few years back. 

It locks into the front attach-o-matic. 

That would be a great addition.

@Achto  that would also be a good  upgrade to  male/ female heim end joints on a  threaded rod  for  direction swing , 1/2"  or bigger , instead of wallowing out those mount holes . pete

I just made one to install on my son’s 312-H this weekend based on some ideas from @Ed Kennell. Right now gray primed, but it’ll be red when it goes on! Pics once painted and on!

Don - the plow frame lifts in a slight arc, hinged at the Unidrive. Does the quick mount give it enough pivot & wiggle to move freely??

Yes, it does. We mounted the frame crosspiece about 1.5” foward from where the downrod would be in contact with the Attach-a-Matic’s locking rod to be sure the downrod would have fore and aft play. Tested with it clamped in place before drilling!

My son quipped that the plow-mounted bracket will have friction wear. “Yep.” I answered, “In 30 years that’ll be your problem."

Tell him he can add an "Anaball" floating 2 bolt bearing like that in the upper steering of the later tractors..... got room for one.

Sorry - used OE as a lower shaft floating bearing - a popular add-on fix for a sloppy upper shaft. WH P/N 6472

Looks like that might give a little bit more side support while that pin is in up/down motion.

I'm fairly sure that rod is smaller than the steering column but I think I'll order up one of those bearings that fits this piece.

Look at Don's version - right down the middle. Plenty of room to cleanly mount a bearing. Yours may be an issue - wider plate, mount front to back???
