Ed Kennell 40,499 #1 Posted January 17, 2023 (edited) I have a member that needs front axle for a Charger 12. I have one from a C-160 at the Roadapples collection. Can you all confirm they are the same? Edited January 17, 2023 by Ed Kennell
ebinmaine 70,756 #2 Posted January 17, 2023 IIFF the Charger is a Limited Slip Differential the end plates may be offset and the axles may be two different lengths. The C160 whether it's Automatic or manual should have axles of equal length I think. If it's the short side on the Charger it could very well work.

What's the issue with the axle on the Charger? Could it be fixed with bushings or is it busticated?

Owner says the axle, spindles, and tie rods are worn and sloppy. I offered a bushing repair or a replacement unit from Roadapples. He elected a new unit.
Lee1977 7,037 #6 Posted January 17, 2023 I would think it would work. Once they built something for Wheel Horse it never changed,. You have to go way back in the 60's for the wheels with 4 1/2" hubs every thing after that had 3 3/4" hubs. I had some tub trailer wheels with 4 1/2" hubs that put on my 312 and had to cut the hubs back to 3 3/4".
Pullstart 64,573 #7 Posted January 17, 2023 I have had these two units apart before. No differences noted. 1

Some models of B6000 Kubotas had 4WD -- possible source for a “live" front axle? (Did use a longitudinal drive shaft, though.)
Lee1977 7,037 #10 Posted January 17, 2023 (edited) If he has a wheel that the bearing is loose it will destroy a spindle. I had that to happen on my C-120. I just looked to see how much a new front axle assembly would be. spindles. axle. axle pin, tie rods, and c-clips.. $691.51. He will still have worn out holes on the axle mount.
