Searcher60 209 #6 Posted January 15, 2023 Are you certain the 300 & 400 series rims are the same size as the tires were 8.5 on the 300, and 9.5 on the 400. You may be correct, I just do not want to buy the wrong size rims. I need to know where to look for the right width rims. In other words are 310-8 rims the same width as 416-8? Thanks for the reply! pfrederi 17,627 #7 Posted January 15, 2023 (edited) Most all 300s and 400s had same rim size. 7" They would mount 8.50 9.50 (some entry level early 300s had 5" some late 400s had 8.5)) Easy way to figure out what rim size you have 1st pic about 1" from flange to drop center edge is a 5" rim 2nd pic about 2.5 " from flange edge to drop center edge is 7" rim 3rd pic about 4 " from flange edge to drop center edge is the 8.5" Edited January 15, 2023 by pfrederi 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

WH had a habit of using up old stock so sometimes the size listed in parts manuals may not be what was actually put on. also over the years wheels get replaced. Finally the brand of tire makes a difference. Pic shows a Deestone 10.50 on a 7" rim and a Carlisle 10.50 on a 8.5" rim 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Now I know that I have surface rusty 7” Wheels on my 87’ Kohler Mag 416-8. I will assume that 8.5” wheel only came on the 520? And, what is your opinion of putting that 8.5” on the 400 series. Fat AGs (Carlilse 10.50s) in 8.5" rims., no weights do not want to sink into the mud No clearance issues. just make sure the 8.5 yu get come from a WH.
