Digger 66 3,478 #1 Posted January 14, 2023 Any of you guys / gals replaced the stretch-belts on your cars or trucks ? My question is : how much of a difference should there be between a 13 year old belt and a new one ? P/N seems correct ( GM 12624100 > Goodyear S040355 ) Just got done doing the serpentine belt / A/C (stretch) belt and tensioner pulley on the pickup . Thanks !
Pullstart 62,890 #2 Posted January 14, 2023 The Chevy stretch AC belts I am not sure how much they stretch over time… but I generally cut the old one off and replace it whenever I have to get in that far. Cheap insurance.

Cheap insurance. Thanks amigo . I've already finished but when I had both the belts across my fingers the new one was considerably shorter . Guessing maybe 1/2" . It didn't put up much of a fight going on .

I didn't measure deflection or the distance between the crank pully & the A/C clutch but it's definitely over ten inches .
