Beap52 811 #26 Posted January 25, 2023 In southwest Missouri we don't see a lot of snow. Last night we received about 4 inches of nice, wet snow. Grandbabies made one of their first snowmen. The attached photo shows a "snowflake" I captured on a piece of plastic. Some of it melted before I was able to get the photo because the plastic was warm being in my shop. I figure the snowflake grew on it way towards earth as the bigger ones were traveling faster than the smaller ones that it likely collided with. I took a video of the snow coming down and it was almost memorizing. I sent the photo to my neighbor, who is getting cancer treatments in St. Louis, that these flakes were big enough they hurt when they landed on a fellow. 1 2

Hey on that plow breaking tension so quickly, I had to add another set of springs to my 60" plow. I think I even had them on when it was a 48". Still able to break the hold and flip forward but much more useful.

Purposely set blade that way for two new driveways... straitened up it digs as should... Next year i'll reset and it'll be normal...
Pullstart 62,846 #32 Posted January 27, 2023 Ski club with Jada tonight, it’s winter! Unfortunately, it’s also gravity. My glasses were in my backpack and I took a little tumble. Big one if you ask the spectacles though!

No surprises, gave up raking it, it has over a 3' soffit, I usually knock it down from behind when it does this. It's all about temperature, sometimes it melts, sometimes it curls, sometimes the whole thing goes but hasn't done that for quite a few years. Pretty much a no win situation, I've gotten used to it...

If I keep the eaves clear it seems to stay put but once it curls over the edge all bets are off.
