OutdoorEnvy 1,522 #3 Posted January 5, 2023 That is pretty cool...though I wouldn't want to be the friend taking that call..."Hey buddy can you swing by to help me move something?..."
SylvanLakeWH 25,602 #4 Posted January 5, 2023 Going out on a limb here... should be fire proof enough for any ashes that spill... That is cool...
ri702bill 8,347 #5 Posted January 5, 2023 I for one would rather see all of the stovepipe exposed - just to be able to review the condition of the pipe & joints as it ages...
c-series don 8,724 #6 Posted January 6, 2023 I’ve seen this on the internet before, I like the fact that they made it look like the stick from the excavator is coming through the ceiling! Also I wonder if it’s sitting on a slab or is there a basement below? If there’s a basement below its got to have some very substantial floor beams because that bucket weighs a few pounds!! I showed this to my wife a while ago, she grew up with her family having an excavating business and so do I. She took one look and said NO! Don’t get any ideas!! 😂
ebinmaine 67,657 #7 Posted January 6, 2023 Trina says that being a bucket would definitely throw some heat right back at ya too.

I think that IS the actual stick (or part of it). That much steel makes an interesting thermal mass around the stove.
Pullstart 62,916 #9 Posted January 6, 2023 Maybe the excavator got stuck during construction and they just built around it?
grinchsr 629 #10 Posted January 6, 2023 (edited) I inspector in my town would probably say there is not enough fire protection around it. Edited January 6, 2023 by grinchsr
