Does the oil come that far that I will have to drain it in order to remove the fuel pump without making a mess? Should be below the fuel pump level. If you remove the fuel pump you really should replace the gasket unless your luck is good and it comes off whole.
csvt99 173 #52 Posted April 7, 2023 I sealed the breather the whole way around with gasket maker. It is hard to see in this picture because it was the clear color. Would have rather had black but this was already in my drawer. Will give it another shot tomorrow and hope it works!

csvt99 173 #54 Posted April 8, 2023 I ran her again today and found what looks to be the main culprit of the leak. Although the governor is still leaking quite a bit too. I took this picture while running so you can see the oil pushing out by the flywheel cover.
squonk 41,100 #55 Posted April 8, 2023 That's a new seal in there. I'm kind of surprised as I ran it to make sure nothing leaked out especially along the long edges of the pan where the gasket is thin. Does it look like it coming out between the cover and the bearing plate or the bearing plate and the block? This is a video I took of the engine running after I broke it in on the stand. about 2 hours of runtime and no oil coming out. And one where I first fired it up. It seemed to be between the bearing plate and the cover. It only leaks after it has been running for a bit (but certainly not two hours).

It is likely circumstantial or something I did or didn't do. I just appreciate all the help and support you've given me 👏. We'll get it figured out. I have two tractors for a reason😁

I have two tractors for a reason😁 I can think of 3 possibilities: 1. the crank had a tiny burr and wrecked the seal or the seal spun in it's bore. ( I have seen this happen on Chrysler cam seals which are the same style ,all plastic and rubber.) 2. The bearing plate is slightly cocked and didn't seal. Bolts were torqued , but as you torque them it seats the bearing and if the bearing binds on the crank or it's bore, the torque reading is reached without fully seating the gasket. 3. One or more of the bolts broke from the stress of seating the bearing. I feel bad about this. Send me your address and let me at least send you another gasket set for your trouble.
