Commando800 32 #1 Posted December 27, 2022 So I have a 1971 wheel horse commando 800 and bought a snow plow that came off of a 520h what am I missing I hooked up the middle but I know I need the bracket to hold up the rear I’m looking on buying one it’s just that the website it wouldn’t fit my tractor I know one of you guys would know that’s why I’m asking thanks. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,036 #2 Posted December 27, 2022 Here is a list of the blades. 1970-73 model [6-4113 + 6-9622] 1973-74 model [6-4113 + 6-9623] 1974 model [6-4114 + 6-9624] 1974 model 6-2131 1975 model 6-2132 1976 model 6-2133 1976 model 66-42BC01 1977 model 76-42BC01 1978 model 86-42BC01 1979 model 96-42BC01 1980 model 06-42BC01 1981-1984 model 06-42BC02 (Up to here they are 42" wide) 1984-1989 model 06-48BC01 (They are now 48" wide) 1990 model 06-48BC02 (Last blade to have 3 angle positions) 1991-1993 model 06-48BC03 (First blade to have 5 angle positions) 1993-2001 model 79350 - (105-1502 kit adapts 2001 and older GT Classic-Series blades to fit 2002 and later tractors 2002 2004-2009 2012 model 79364 - (105-1501 kit adapts 79364 blade to fit 2001 and older GT Classic-Series) Some 520's required an extension at the rear of the A-frame. It is mounted by a round and that bar fits into the rear axle hitch. These manuals cover the blade back in the day for your tractor. Key point is at the end... The later 520’s had a longer wheelbase and hence needed a longer plow frame to get the correct clearance ahead of the front wheels and position the angle lever differently. WH solved it with the “extension” kit that lengthened the frame just ahead of the transaxle. If you have that piece, remove it before installing on the 800. peter lena 8,589 #9 Posted January 2, 2023 @Commando800 what ever you have on that plow set up , while its off the horse , do a steering quadrant lubrication detailing , especially the spring lever slide pin area , pop off the upper and lower cover caps , suspend the plow frame on milk crates , so you can roller stool around it , and you can verify what's going on . like aerosol RED GREASE , in that spring slide spot , and related vertical lever swing spot . would also use longer bolts on lever , transition areas , so you can use elastic lock nuts to hold best setting . lever action can sound like a rifle bolt smooth / easy , coat blade with aerosol lubricant for snow release . use 1/8" hair pin spring clips on rear axel lever hold bracket , push in to last big end point , so they will not fall off . this is my set up , and it works . good plowing , pete Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
