your damn weather is in my backyard:ranting:! Can somebody come get it

Trade you mine for yours!    Two degrees the first thing this morning, went all the way up to nine in the afternoon. That warm spell isn't going to last though, they tell us it will be cold tomorrow and Christmas day.

Took a quick look at the thermometer this morning and it was two degrees. While I was looking it went down to one so I quit looking, don't want it to go any further.

Yesterday I saw a local news weather person somewhere in northern Georgia say, for all us southerners stay home and don't drive unless you really need to. For all you snowbirds you'll need your big coat:handgestures-thumbupright:. Enjoy your holidays and stay safe and warm.

- 3 degrees all night Wind chill was around-11 and to add to the fun the electricity went off for 2 hours last evening.  To cold and windy to set up the generator.  Got the two big batteries and inverters to run the coal stove blower and one  for the refrigerator and some lights

The pellet stove is making the basement happy, the wood boiler is making everything else happy!  :orcs-cheers:

Okay, one more, you know it's cold in south Florida when they issue a Falling Iguanas alert, Google it.

Sounds as though it's colder down south than it is here in Central NY.  I've got 10 degrees and only a couple of drifts than needed any attention. Most areas are blown clear. The wind is a howling though, they say 20-30 with 40 mph gusts.  Looks like a great day for some football. Let's Go Buffalo.  :laughing-rolling:

Maybe this ain’t totally about the weather, but if it weren’t for the weather then this would not be an issue…

Over the years our area has had more than average power outages…

My neighbor called Duke Energy and they did admit that our area did indeed have more than usual power interruptions. They blamed it on our location on the grid and aging infrastructure.

So anyways my neighbor Grady had a Generac Automatic Generator installed and you know how it goes, suggested I get one too.

Well here we have guests in for Christmas, near record cold and the power goes out…

So I’m looking up at Grady’s like “look at him up there with his generator running, staying warm” 😆

I think Duke Energy cut the power because of strain on the power grid, not because of a repair issue….

But they are just calling it an “outage “

I’ll probably be shopping for an automatic generator soon…

I'm about 10 miles from the Atlantic.

Yesterday it was 56 at 10 AM.  By 3 PM it was 32 and continued to drop through the night.  Low last night was 8.8

It's about 15 now...

Lots of rain yesterday before the cold, then a snow squall that did not accumulate... then the wind started, some gusts to 50 MPH.

Luckily power stayed on.

Sounds like you folks out east are getting what we had the last couple of days - 0 degrees +/- and WIND.

Today, we woke to a balmy 10 degrees and a light breeze of 10 mph or so.  Looks like dog and I will get a walk in today..

Yep.   I've been wearing my Eddie Bauer goosedown puffy coat, nicknamed "Big Blue" even if I'm only going outside for 5-10 minutes.  And my Thinsulate boots. Hotfingers gloves.

I guess things have changed a bit since the last time I looked at the forecast.  I thought the high today was going to be around 1*, but now it says 17*.
