Easton Rich 276 #1 Posted December 23, 2022 Looking to buy one figured out there is difference between lawn and garden tractor. Don't need to really work it to hard just mowing
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,046 #2 Posted December 23, 2022 The transmission is what makes it a lawn tractor. 2 pages of info on them https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/search/?q=02-08bp0&quick=1&type=downloads_file
Easton Rich 276 #3 Posted December 23, 2022 I know the shaft is the difference. Vertical and Horizontal?
Easton Rich 276 #4 Posted December 23, 2022 Just Wondering because starting to tinker with them and find parts is difficult
Ed Kennell 38,199 #5 Posted December 23, 2022 Any Wheel Horse is good to have. Having the Peerless transmission, the B-82 is limited to lawn mowing. Most wheel Horse owners opt for a horizontal engine with the stronger Wheel Horse gear drive or Sundstrand, or Eaton Hydro transmissions. Many tractors, parts and implements should be available in your area. Good Luck.
c-series don 8,716 #6 Posted December 23, 2022 I agree with Ed, I’d opt for a hydrostatic transmission if it’s just for mowing. I actually prefer them anyway because most came with hydraulic lift. I like the C-series tractors because they are simple and easy to work on. They also don’t have all of what I think is is that unnecessary electrical crap that usually ends up causing problems. Also is that a 68 Chevy 4x4 in your picture?
Easton Rich 276 #7 Posted December 25, 2022 Thanks for all the info. Still I probably will pick it up any way just to play with. I love all Wheel Horses even if its electric

Easton Rich 276 #10 Posted December 25, 2022 So mine may not be that nice but it did sit in a shed 10-15 years. It does have rust but a LOT better than most originals
Easton Rich 276 #11 Posted December 25, 2022 Here you go. It belonged to my Grandpa Floyd. He bought it new at the farm store he worked at in 1989. 1 3

c-series don 8,716 #15 Posted December 25, 2022 (edited) @Easton RichI believe mine is a 1987. I bought it from the original owner around a year and a half ago. He was getting along in years and hired a lawn service. He was visibly sad to see it go, however I assured him it was going to a good home. Occasionally I send him pictures of it, which he said makes him happy! I didn't do anything to the paint except clean it! If I remember correctly it has around 800 hrs on it.
