Alex175 784 #1 Posted December 22, 2022 In-laws have been asking my wife and I what we wanted for Christmas this year, and we never gave them an answer. Finally my MIL said to us the other day "well you guys are more practical and hard to shop for, so how about if we just get you a cord of firewood" sounds great...no argument on that from my end. With heating oil prices still up, having lacked time to cut or split much this year, and my firewood shed almost empty it's perfect. Got dropped off yesterday morning, and with the storm approaching I got right to putting it away. I now present, yesterday morning, a story in pictures. They dropped it off in the perfect location. Needed some inside, much easier to use a WH rather than carry it up. It's not a long long walk, but any excuse to drive a tractor is taken by me. My favorite thing in my house is the ability to load my firewood into the house through the garage. Esme was sad she didn't get to come join me outside though. On the return trip, decided to move the mower decks down to the shed for the winter to clear up space in the garage. All loaded up. And put away neatly. Only problem was, after measuring I realized that they dropped off less than 2/3 of a cord. So now they are coming back Monday to confirm, and then drop off the remainder. 9 4

Ed Kennell 38,145 #5 Posted December 22, 2022 Beautiful fireplace and wood stove. Great arrangement to bring the wood in and leave the dirt out. Just a suggestion on your wood storage. I like to stack it back to front so I always have access to the most seasoned wood. It takes a little longer as you need to crib the front end and keep an air space between rows. I use a felt pen to mark the year cut on the end of every row so I don't lose track of the age. I like to burn 3yo wood..
