Looks like it’s time to get the chains on, make sure the oil is fresh, and the battery is fully charged.  I can’t remember ever looking at a forecast like this.  Eastern Lake Erie is even worse. May be pushing tree limbs as well as snow. 90D29C42-A593-4E5E-BAA3-894CD4F16AD1.jpeg.49ba117abdd6010c0b1970c2a40205b8.jpeg98E63845-0CE6-44DE-ADD0-0343CADADE3C.png.a74f98ada142c0a17ef7479b7a8349d1.png

Looks like even people no where near a lake will be getting lake effect snow. We are anticipating single digit temperatures and snow in the mountains of North Carolina. My plan of action is to stay inside until it warms up above free3zing and let it melt next week.

Nah, that doesn't happen Richard. It's system snow. That will hit here tonight and tomorrow. It will be mixed with lake on the east side and really add up the numbers up north. Then the system goes through but the lake effect will continue for some. If they nailed the forecast we will have 4-8" of system but no lake. !5 miles north will have 12" because of the mix. Quite a but more towards the Michigan border north. They will continue to get nailed while we'll have sunshine. But we can't escape the wind and cold. :)

We are looking at possibly a dusting of snow and 3 inches of rain. That amount of rain should really mix well with the snow pack that’s already on the ground in the hills. Places up there have over 20inches. All that water comes down the valley to my town.

I am in the Detroit / Flint area of Michigan, closer to Flint. We are supposed to get about 7" out of storm. Biggest fear is the wind, wind should be pushing 40mph +, and very cold temps.

This will be my first test of the 520H with blower and snow cab. The Generator is ready to go if we lose power., its a whole house with auto start

Agreed 100%

The best thing about snow in NC is that it goes away in a hurry!

On Monday the weather models were saying 18"+, windy and cold. The windy and cold came, but we probably only have around 1"-2" of snow and it's all moved east. Easy work for the 418-A, but it was cold for driver.

We got hammered with super high winds and moderate unmeasurable snow. So cold that I waited it out until the temp was above fifteen degrees.

By then the drifts were frozen, but once a path was chewed through, I just skinned snow off the edge and used the existing snow to contain one side. The aggressive 4 wheeler treads pushed it easily without additional weight or chains needed

Nothing really. The seat is just a Harbor Freight movers blanket inside the waterproof bag. I had to replace the transmission belt tensioner, which in my case is a motorcycle tube made into a rubber band, so I was in a hurry to get into service. Farmer repairs stuff.

Of course that 853 Bobcat could have done things in a hurry, but after being in the house with a growing honey do list,a feller just needs some seat time
