Where's a good place to get replacement springs? I just broke one that's 3/4 diameter by 14" long. In case it matters it's the belt tensioner spring for my snowblower.

you may be able to bend a new eye in the end to get you back in service till you find one. I have no W H snowblowers so will have to wait for someone with experience with them to respond. Bob

ACE, TSC and others may have something that works.  Does TORO still show the part??  :confusion-confused:

Yup, I’d head to the nearest hardware store and bring my McGuyver hat!

@Slippery   local h/w store should have a good supply ,  don't expect to pick up the exact size / type,  personally , always have  small steel round stock on hand to adapt to any spring , situation look for  an extension spring , with the same winding size , cut and bend up the end connections with  1/8 "  steel round stock , like a  long  "    S  SHAPE "  . been doing that  for years .  piece of cake , pete

Understood Pete.  The nice thing about these horses is the fabrication that is possible from all of the great members we have assembled here.  Being able to go to a Hardware Store and make or find what you need is priceless.  Put a little grease on it and it becomes a piece forever.  Don't stop doing what you do.  :banana-dance:

Feller can find himself fixing something that would have never thought of before the particular ... incident? happens.

So I was cutting my 2 acres when I noticed the deck blades wernt turning, head to shop, find a spring for tensioning the belts was missing - didnt even try to find a spring in amongst all that grass. Always keep a few odd springs in the shop, so went and dug one that was close, just too short maybe 2 inches. Some time previously had about 20-30 stick welder rods get wet and flux was falling off and I had never thrown them away so after scratching my head for a few, I thought of them and got one and started bending ---- after couple tries I had one that worked nicely, still on there. Have since found all sorts of things to do with otherwise useless welding rods.....:handgestures-thumbupright:

Yo Slippery - you MAY be able to do a "I need it now fix" using a short piece of steel coat hanger to get you thru.  Bend up a circle of hanger, use a pair of side cutter pliers to open up the spring 2 or 3 coils past the break - fish the hanger in, twist it off to make a loop. Reattach the spring & check for function. BT,DT.
