Non-ethanol run

  Made a trip up to New Hampshire for some non-ethanol fuel from the pump. Here in Connecticut it’s only sold in stores and is $25-$30 a gallon!! 
  Bought 28.5 gallons at $4.70 a gallon, plus drove 212 miles round trip in my Tundra getting just over 18 MPG…after calculating and adding in my truck fuel costs this non-ethanol fuel costs me $6.01 a gallon. 
  I call that a win! (plus the NH Liquor store is kinda next door so I picked up something for myself)

Interesting irony with the fact that you'll drive so far to eliminate alcohol from your gasoline and add it to your you.

Prices are crazy -- all across. Went to wally world yesterday and unleaded was .... $2.40!!!  six/eight wks ago was bumping $4. Didnt notice the non ethanol, but ww is usually fifty cts more than unlead so was prob $2.90

Fortunately for me, we have a non-ethanol station only a mile and a half from my house. Regular gas here today is $2.95.9, and e-free is usually $1.00 more. Haven't gotten any lately because I bought 20 gallons 3 weeks ago.

Pricey as it is, my racing engines get this (I also buy the smaller cans at times)....

 

 

Luckily for me, 1 bottle of RGU lasts a loooong time.

I started buying the premixed gas like that for the convenience of it (not because I have any aversion to ethanol use) and I feel it’s safer to store in its original container in the garage than in my plastic fuel cans. 
 

Curiously the stores around here sell the 32-oz quart bottles of premix trufuel cheaper - on a per ounce basis - than the 110-oz “gallon” size.  And the quart bottles are easier to pour.

I'm still looking for the gas cap on my E-141... 

 

 

I do run only efree in my C 105... 1/2 mile away... lake area so most stations carry it for the boaters... I'm lucky...

Sparky, as long as you are traveling, Canada sells an excellent (at customs) Canadian Whiskey that is Cherry flavored.  If you mixed the Cherry and the Peanut Butter in a saucer and threw in a piece of toast, you could have Peanut Butter and Jelly Time.

For reference…here’s how Ct wants us to buy ethanol free. Snapped this pic today. It can bought cheaper in a 5 gallon container, buts still nowhere near the $6/gallon I’m paying.

@Sparky  noting your fuel run , never used  non ethanol fuel in my horses / small engines , have changed the fuel lines , have 2 fuel filters on my stuff , always added  STA -BIL  to every bit of my fuel , when I  top off, so my fuel is  rich with it . not had any issues at all , carb bowls are clean , consistent starts , just my own experience , plugs look clean , while I  am buying an additive and steadily using it  there is a cost comparison to non ethanol fuel , but , adding a couple of ounces  to my top offs , has been trouble free for me , pete

I’m not sure what it costs here, 4 something. It’s everywhere. I won’t use anything else so I’ll pay extra. They didn’t even have ethanol in 1965 to the best of my knowledge. None of these motors were designed to run on it. In my opinion neither are todays motors. It’s all government laws and mandates to feed certain industries. Also too much farm land is set aside for the production of it in my opinion.

  I use it in the ones that sit around and only really see use at shows and meets. 
  The two tractors that see mowing duty all summer get ethanol laced pump gas (with stabil) all summer. And my snowplow tractor will get the same until this spring when snow plowing is about done. At that time it will get filled with E-free since it pretty much sits all summer.

That's what I use in my tractors that sit all winter. Smells good burning too! 

 

I use Seafoam year round. Personally, I don't think Stabil is worth a hill of beans.

Excellent.  

 

We use non ethanol in every small engine ~ nearly ~ 100% of the time. 

Every once in a great while I'll be forced into using regular gas because of my own bad planning combined with lack of availability. 

 

Little 2 strokes... NEVER get Ethanol anything. 

I don't know the science behind why.. they're far more susceptible to the damage.

You Bet!!! I am using weed whacker, chain saw, blower, etc that are 5-6 yrs old now, where before I would pitch one because of no start after bout the 2nd year.

I just bought 5 gallons of rec fuel today, regular unleaded is 2.80 a gallon, the rec fuel was 5.35 a gallon.

It seems they don't lower the price accordingly with the other pumps...

Still better than $28.99 a gallon, what a rip off.

I'm glad we recently got a gas station close to me that sells ethanol free gasoline! I used to go 30 minutes one way to get ethanol free gas and then my father in law got a big tank of it down at the farm and I would get it there and pay him. This fall a sheetz put in an ethanol free pump during a remodel that is 3 minutes from home. My galaxie is gonna be thankful for that!

 

Hey those VP jugs, do you like them? I was thinking about getting a couple, but had been seeing mixed reviews online.
